What is Feldenkrais?

At Vinur Farm, we are passionate about movement on and off horseback.

Besides being an IPZV licensed Icelandic Horse Trainer and Instructor Freya also is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and offers both ATMs and FIs online and in person.

You do not have to be a rider to work with her, anybody who wants to move better is welcome!

For (future) horse people we offer lessons, clinics, one-on-one intensives, equine nutrition services and more.

We are moving. Three words that are heavy with sadness, a hard setting in of reality that this is really happening, gratitude for our time here and all the wonderful people and horses we got to meet, and excitement about what lays ahead of us. After almost 11 years for me and much longer for Ben, our time in the Pacific Northwest is coming to an end and we are moving east. When the time is right we will share more about where we are going and what will be next for us. For now, we want to say THANK YOU to our wonderful customers and friends who helped us make Vinur Farm into the peaceful and fun place it has become and THANK YOU to this precious piece of earth that was a wonderful home for us and our animals, that taught us so much and let us build our dream here. I feel a love for this place, so deep, that I am not sure how I will be able to walk away, but I am grateful for the time we got to spend here and I know that as long as we are together, we will be fine wherever we are. Life is what we make it. And just like in horse training, as long as we are flexible, humble, and willing to learn and grow, we will do good. Yes, even Icelandic horses can be cold. After significant snowfall and now freezing rain at barely above 32 degrees they got too wet and their internal heater is struggling to keep up. Doesn’t mean they will go under their shelter 🤪🫠😵‍💫 what now? Put them under cover, offer free choice hay, if that’s not enough: blanket until the storm passes. The moral of the story? Don’t believe the internet and it’s “one fits all” statements about whether Icelandics need blankets or not, instead: ask your horse. Hunched backs, sucked up bellies, cold ears, and shivering are all clear signs of discomfort and need to be addressed. #vinurfarm #winterweather #washingtonsucksrightnow #coldhorses #freezingrain
